Tidy up those crappy turnovers.
Agreed. every side can say that.
The problem is ross talks about it , the players acknowledge it BUT nothing changes. A quarter here a game there but not consistently against quality opponents.
Ross may be doing a miraculous job with a very ordinary skilled side.

Nothing wrong with our skills in the first two months of this season when we won tough and iced a good number of games by half time.

Maybe he's doing an ordinary job with a skilled side.

So what you're saying is we're a blue collar team, whose skills are not at an elite level comparing that to the Hawks, Eagles and Sydney ( current top 4 sides), and yet we're still on top of the ladder, clear by 2 Pts. The only team we haven't beaten this season is the Hawks. They're still the benchmark with elite skills. So I'm happy with where we're at.

Well at least if the coach is going to be the goat this week, then Dawson may be in for a light week.

The topic is 'what I learned'. We already knew Dawson was a crab.

I'm still very content. I can't think of a better position to attack a flag from than top of the ladder, but with everyone dismissing our chances. We would all have taken that at season's start, wouldn't we?

i. The only thing that let us down was our kicking on goal. If we'd slotted the 2-3 fairly easy missed shots from our alleged forwards, we would've won and this conversation would be very different. This week should be kicking practice and nothing more. They already know the rest.

ii. My Slime loving neighbours are becoming unbearable.

iii. With Pav out, A Pearce looked a little lost in the forward line, but I still think he's a gun in the making

iv. No more positives at the moment.... :(

That 40% more running would be handier now than in the preseason

I’ve also been a bit concerned about our ‘foot soldier’ types. In 2013 Clancee, Mzungu, MDB and Suban were very solid contributors (as was a young man named Neale). If anything, those four have gone backwards since then, which is a shame because they are admirable players, but they just don’t seem to have the same impact on a game. This is compounded by the fact that Sheridan, Suttcliffe and Crozier haven’t really gone up a level either.

I’m not sure if it is a development issue, coaching, niggling injuries or something to do with the players themselves, but we really need those guys to lift. Premierships can be decided by the bottom 5 players on a team as much as the top 5 players. To me, that was the difference between Roly’s Saints teams and those Geelong and Collingwood teams that beat them. For the last few years I’ve though our bottom 5 was at least the equal of other top 4 teams, but I’m not sure it is at the moment. But we know they have it in them, so perhaps with the lift in intensity come finals time they will stand up.

This team has not played a convincing four quarters since their first game against the kangaroos; their turnovers , lack of forward and defensive pressure and appalling skills ensure they will be threatened by almost any other team in the competition. This week they need to decimate the Demons by 100 points to demonstrate they have some semblance of form. I am a foundation member and at no other time have I felt more disappointed by this team.

It was only a matter of time before a long suffering supporter reared their head. Never been more disappointed with a team sitting top of the ladder, gearing up for two home finals and a crack at the flag?

Season 2001 has never looked so good.
