Their(and the Hawks)willingness to play on as quickly as possible, plus their excellent ball use and few turnovers makes it bloody hard for any backline no matter how good they are to stop. Especially against quality marking forwards who have a heap of room to move in.
In the first half even when we had the chance to attack we would often hold it up way too long, chip it around, etc which gives the opposition the chance to clog the backline and make it near impossible for the forwards.
Last quarter we start to run, create and attack and things start to open up.
I am worried that our game plan is becoming dated. Yes good defensive teams make the finals but you still need a strong open forward structure with plenty of options and that's something we don't have and haven't for a long time.
