DBTS, as much as I love Ballas, I still thought he deserved what he copped by Goldstein in round 8. He ran in front of Goldie off the ball and copped one. Goldstein got a $1000 fine.

Free kicks second half Eagles 12 Freo 12 score in second half Eagles 7-7 to Freo 9-8.
Extrapolate that and it is a lot closer game.

You can't put that first Q frees down to poor play. We got caned. Many of those frees were soft, not paid to us at the other end, or just not even there.. It happens all the time, but we cope against average sides.

If we'd have got 20-7 where WC got them, we'd have peppered the goals as well. When Freo stopped getting caned by frees, well lo and behold they got back in the game.

Umps checked their cards and got the numbers closer late in the game. It's a farce the way this game is adjudicated, and it's making me think twice about even caring.

Anyone who thinks the umps don't influence games has their own fist well and truly inserted in their own anoos. Time Ross did a Hird and named names on a national show of some kind. Happy to pay his fine for him. And when the AFL say please explain the answer is simple, your umpires and their coaches are shite.

The umpiring is the main reason I was worried about this game since May this year.

In the last 10 years vs Freo, The Slime have not won a single game when the Free Kick tally ends in Freo's favour.
(Disclaimer, the last time was just over 10 years ago in 2005, R3 Free Kicks 22 to 17 in Freo's favour ... Freo lost by 8 points).

Freo have won 15 of those 20 games. Of those 15 games won, 4 times the Free Kicks were in our favour (once even) and 10 times the Free Kicks were against us.
