TOPIC: Where to watch in London?

Marto Where to watch in London? 8 years 8 months ago #1

Marto
We will be in London Town this weekend and would love to watch the big game with fellow Dockers. I know it's on BT sport at 7.30am. Anyone know of pubs open at that time? Thanks.

The Jetlag Pub - yeah, great place to watch Burnsley take on Wolverhampton but you would be a bit daft thinking you could watch the game at a place that only opens an hour after the game finishes. Grab a Piccadilly line train to Heathrow and sloth into the Qantas Club - share a cocktail with Bronny Bishop on a fact finding mission on entitlements in the Mother Country.

That's how I watch it careyg.
wifi into laptop - hdmi into big TV. FOOTY LIVE.

Plus, with a season pass I can rewatch all the games I missed.
It could be 2am in the morning and the wife still thinks the "footy is on"

Watch AFL other prices are $25 for a month and $65 for "Finals Plus" which I think means to the end of the year. The worst things are maddening repetitive loops of crap to replace the channel 7 add breaks, plus you get the channel 7 commentary. I can't imagine anyone would get homesick for any of those guys and McAvaney is a good reason to leave the country. Much as I hate Fox News, it might be worth checking if there is a reasonable price package that includes afl.

Always head to a casino open 24 hours they come with food ,drinks and BT sport and I am glad to report Marto was seen in front of the massive screen trying valiantly to rub the butter off the boys fingers and point out where to kick.

In a moment of unbelievable brain fade I booked a holiday to the UK in September. Stupid, I know but now I really need to know the best way to watch the prelim finals. Do I buy the AFL month's pass and watch on my iPad, or is there another alternative. I will either be in Tunbridge Wells or East Ham. All suggestions gratefully received.

Allison so it's Marto's fault they were going sideways - TV's being 2 dimensional & all.

Addicted, definitely buy the AFL month pass but further to that go to Dick Smith or JB HiFi before you go and get special HDMI cable that you can plug from your IPad in to TV wherever you are staying at the time. It's then just as good as laying on the couch at home (...add beer, preferably not too warm Pommie pint).

Thank you so much for that advice, Drummy. I will be heading down to JB Hi fi this weekend. You never know, I may be able to convince my pommy friends to join me on the sofa. They will probably feeling a bit indulgent after the Ashes debacle!

They are not all that special Addicted, so don't be conned into buying the $70 gold plated special edition job, stock standard $15 will do the job, go online it may even be cheaper in London.
