On the Weller thread it was mentioned that he had elite kicking skills. That had been mentioned when he was first drafted and seen regularly in his games for Peel. It had me thinking that with our terrible ball use, missing targets, etc over the last few weeks, are we picking players who have the best skills, and if not, why not?
Why have our ball skills gone off lately when they were so good at the start of the year?
We have guys on the outer at the moment in Duffield and Pearce whose ball skills are usually very good, but we seem to be willing to give games to players who regularly miss targets and cause turnovers. e.g. Sheridan, Sutcliffe, although certainly weren't on their own on Sunday.
Blakely and Langdon have been talked up here and rightly so. Obviously a different level but they seem to have good ball skills. Anybody seen enough of them to comment? Would they be better value than some we're playing now?
