You'll find the closer you get to the finals the more incapable of either analysis or even understanding the system or the bleeding obvious the football media become.

If you thought this story was bad, freoboy, just listen to the garbage you're going to hear from the likes of Langdon and Hackdorn over the next few weeks.

(And Drummy, if any team is going to crack the top 4 from "outside", it'll probably be the Bullies. They'll need to beat WC here, but if they don't it probably means Richmond can't get up either. By the way, look for the Swans to make a late charge for 2nd spot - very doable with their run home if they hit some form. And, for the same reason, don't write GWS off for the finals.)

Zorro - whilst not impossible for Sydney to make 2nd I don't think it is very doable. An awful lot needs to go right for Sydney for that to happen - including them winning every remaining game and Hawthorn dropping at least one and possibly two and Eagles dropping 2 (excluding the Hawks game - they can't both lose it). I reckon we'll know this weekend if Sydney can make 2nd:
1) this weekend is the only game the Hawks are any realistic chance to drop (although following week Kennett Curse could come into play) and
2) Sydney have Cats at SS - I don't think they play there much?? I reckon Cats will win that game.

Either way I reckon this weekend is the clutch weekend for a lot of teams.

Of course, having said that we all know what can happen when you play the odds - last week being a great example.

The other thing is I don't think we will want Sydney coming 2nd!! Even though it would almost certainly mean we have the minor premiership.

I really think the AwFL have gone early with this.

Slime will not make the 4, I will put the wife and or house on it!

Zorro, you might be right...could very well be Bulldogs that sneak in ahead of Richmond as they have better draw. Even Roos could snatch it. I do hope though that is not Richmond as otherwise comp will have egg on its face with Tigers having extra day over us in week of finals when they have come out today saying that's what they are avoiding.

Effectively, AwFL is putting its credibility in the hands of the Slime and that's probably last group of people I would be relying on. Wouldn't have happened in Eyebrows' day..

Zac Dawson is the whipping boy for a fair number of members here one game back & we are back to reading some very vitriolic remarks you would almost think it's personal for some reason ffs give the guy a break. If I wanted to read this type of post I'd go onto the Eagles website never thought I'd be reading it on here.

I agree Freolifer enough is enough, or we will drive him out of the game too. Let's think of ways we can show our support to Zac Dawson next home game.

I favour wearing a blindfold, put them on as soon as we get into the stadium and we all try and find our seats......

Hypen, you've got a lot of work to do yet to undo the damage from last year's loss to St Kilda. Had "danger game" written all over it and you were nowhere to be seen...
