Very enjoyable game. Highlight of the year was the fantastic run and goal by Ed Langdon when Peel were 13pts down halfway through the last quarter that inspired the comeback. Must have run and bounced about 70m from the wing along the boundary line to banana a goal on the run from about 20m out with someone on his tail and the bounces not quite coming up off the turf so that he had to stoop to collect as he was running.

Blakely so good. Has so much awareness of who is around him, and how to spin out of trouble to buy himself time and his handballs, often sent with a lot of distance out of congestion to find a team-mate in space. Really would like to see how he goes with good players like Mundy, Fyfe, Neale, Barlow around him, as sometimes the mix of players at Peel don't continue the momentum he creates breaking out of stoppages.

It won't happen, but with Neale currently off the boil, Blakely to come in?

So, where do we play cute, then?

Sounds like a soft and cuddly forward type when you put it like that.

Drop Neale for Blakely?? I could think of half a dozen who on lesser effort and poor skill execution lately would be before Neale.

Only saw the second half and thought Blakely was good but not as brilliant as being made out here. Apparently his first quarter was great though?
First quarter The Gu apparently had the ball on a string, so much so that SD sent a tagger to him. I found it interesting that in the last quarter besides that brilliant run mentioned above it was The Gu again, in and under who really made a difference. Also the Duffman's poise and great ball use. Cool heads.
Excellent game to watch. As someone said in fixing our game thread, WAFL games are more enjoyable to watch than most AFL games now.

Forgot to mention that I feel we should all give our most hearty congratulations to EF on their improved performance this week.

Probably Brady Grey that was the player who had the ball on the string in the first quarter/first half, but after that he dropped off considerably, though I noticed he was limping at a couple of contests in the 3rd quarter .

Swans had a good patch late in the 2nd quarter to about halfway through the 4th.

Blakely was quietest in the third quarter. I thought maybe for a short portion of the game he ran off half back - but hard be sure watching it on TV. Most Peel players dropped off during that period when Swans got on top, but overall when Blakely was dominant around the clearances he had a bigger influence in Peels attacking play, whereas the others like Mzungu, Weller, Langdon were kind of steady, but in and out of the play.

Duffield seemed to be moved up to the wing in the final quarter and got into his best patch. From memory, he took a solid contested mark, and played as a bit of an old hand late with Mzungu and Jones, holding onto possession when Peel had wrested back the lead and wanted to keep it until the siren. For most of the game though, it was quite the worst game i've ever seen him play at any level.

Thought Jones was the best player for Peel in the last quarter.

Clarke did his chances no harm for a recall. Dawson was typical Dawson. Hard to dominate 1 on 1, gave away a 50m early, kicked a sloppy kick which was rebounded with interest, but otherwise safe.

A massacre Shane. And I see you have Perth next week so surely you chalk that one down as a win.
