I was in bali and had to listen to 6pr streamed over the internet. This will be unpopular but B Hardie did a good job. He lnew his audience and predominantly spoke about what freo were doing and had to do to win. Being accompanied by Drew Morphet helped. The stats man didn't take himself serious as he conjured up all sorts of weird stuff unlike Bruce M who thinks he is clever stating obscure and irrelevant stats.

i .We sure ain't cruising. Pushed the pedal through the floorboards to get over the line in that one.
ii.You can't have your cake and eat it. Great to see us trying to slice the game open with quick handballs down the guts but we don't have the skill to bring it off yet a la Hawks, Budgies even.
iii.No easy games to come but definitely time for Fyfe for put his legs up for a couple of weeks. He is being smacked around mercilessly ... knees, elbows, boots. Needs some R&R before the derby.

I. Crozier and especially Sheridan did things in the game to cement their places in the side. Hopefully their detractors paid attention to their performances.
II. DeBoer should be worried about his position in the team. Only 5 possessions in nearly a half of footy after coming on as a sub in a game that's made for him, doesn't cut it.
III. Clancee showed a ton of heart coming back on and performing well after his injury.
IV. No one has really mentioned him, but Griffin presented well, took some good marks and played a really valuable game for us. This in turn makes Zac C's chances of getting a game slimmer by the week.
V. Alex Pearce put in another really solid performance and looks the goods.
VI. Jack Riewoldt is AA Lukes bitch.

What did I learn?
I. Maguire is biased, whiny, little girl. No wait, I already knew that
II. The umps did all they could to ignore Richmond's dirty tactics but were forced to pay the really obvious stuff. No, wait, I knew that already as well.
III. The Richmond crowd are feral and stupid and have that overwhelming sense of self entitlement that the slime crowds when it comes to free kicks. Wait, I already knew that.
IV. Alex Pearce is going to be a 200 gamer for us and will be AA in a few years. Knew that before today as well.
V. Pav is an absolute champion. Known that for ages....

So, I guess I didn't learn much really

I. I learnt how fun it is to sit among the heart of opposition supporters all day.
II. Drunken ramblings and abuse became absolutely hilarious at the final siren when their team lost and we parroted it back to them.
III. You might not want to follow our applause at every Freo goal kicked by standing up, turning around, banging your seat and yelling to look at the scoreboard because you aren't gonna have a great time when we follow suit at the final siren and your team has lost!
IV. The G is a bloody impressive place to watch the footy and I hope we get the chance for another win there in October.

I learnt that if you squirt water bottles, give away 50s, start fights and hit the post 3 times when you should have goaled, you'd better hope someone makes a mistake in the final minute of the game to take the heat for a loss.

That the Eagles could beat a team that we have covered, minus their 2 best forwards, beat back man and Gary Rohan from the team that we played earlier this year. Stay calm exceed long way to go yet we didn't get handed the cup in round 7 their not handing it out this round either.

Had my first peek at Ladder Predictor this season (have gone, as my wife would say, earlier than I should have ...but I digress) and picked up that putting losses down to Slime for Hawks game and Derby....they will literally have game against the Western Bulldogs to keep spot in the Top 4.

Also learnt that Pav is still a champ. MayneFan talked it up here elsewhere, that kick in Third Quarter to Hill running at full pace (no easy thing to do) in to space and hit him was kick of the season for mine.
