Good graph from Shane showing his efficiency with the kicking is not always bad. However some/ a lot of his non butchered kicks go to the wrong spots too. Im not suggesting he should be dropped. At his best he can win the ball and provide great outside run and was leading the Inside 50s for the whole comp there for a while. We just need to coach him into taking the right option more often. Hes no Robinson Crusoe. Other than Pav, who ALWAYS takes the right option, there is a bit of improvement still to come.

Other than Neale, he's probable the best one-step kick in the team. It's steps 4 onwards that seem to get him in trouble.

I think he might be generously described as an 'instinctive' footy player. I'm not sure he's always going to make the right decisions, but in a team like ours a little chaos is welcome. But Sat was just a little too chaotic.

I don't wish to be misunderstood. I sincerely found the moments where DP lined up the kill shot then kicked at right angles very funny. It took me back to the wonderful early years of our team where someone like The Prince of pockets would do 6 impossible things then send the Sherrin lace out to the opposition or sailing out of bounds. Boy we used to laugh!
Although I felt sorry for DP when I saw the ill look on his face.

Good graph. It shows his Feild kicking is pretty good. He is a great player

However it is the 3 to 5 pot shots that he takes from fifty per game that I have an issue with. Generally they sail though for a point and you can see a team mate remonstrating in the goal square. I just want him to hit the player up.

Some one said it seemed he had a string of goals from those shots at the beginning of the season and I think they were right. Does anyone have his goals and points for the year. maybe if they can also give it for the last ten rounds.

7 goals 2 points after 7 Rounds
10 goals 7 points for the season.

But the stats say he's down for 0:2 points on the weekend, although I think he had about 6 attempts, but overall in his career he's more points than goals with 2013 being his most off radar season 10:21.

Did you think he started deeper forward, maybe that's why he had the license to ping this week, as he seemed to be on the end of things early. Think the first attempt was buggered up because he mishandled the ball in space and put himself under pressure. Most were in the first quarter, and there was one in the last where Griffin took a contested mark on 50m well with his kicking range but gave off to Danyle.

Maybe after the 1st quarter he swapped with Crozier back into his more midfield role.

His disposal efficiency at Fremantle, which can also be a misleading stat used to be roughly the same as Stephen Hills when I looked it up about a year ago.

Great plot of efficiency % Shane but from my many decades of studying and using maths, I'd say the best-fit "curve" would be a straight , horizontal 75% - with a few outliers showing only marginal significance (statistically speaking). I'd then take a look at the few outliers and determine if there were any other factors involved that might make me exclude those data points.
