Imo we are holding off on the intensity until late August to, start our run. We are coasting at the moment. The same blokes are out there who played the most sublime game of pressure against Sydney a few years ago and beat Geelong in the game that no one could win at Kardinya park. We are a V8 with two cylinders resting.

The more I think about it the more I think that the "slump" is perhaps a bit of a strategy. Why not lose to a hard hitting team like Hawthorn in the regular season (in Tazzie no less)...really its just one game. Maybe pull out the stops in just the final quarter to overcome a team like Brizzy to bank the 4 points, but be fresh, firing and fully fit come September? Whats the point in killing ourselves all season only to fall short in the finals with injury like we did just last year? At this rate we should have a fully fit and fresh list when finals (and better weather) come around

If Freo were actually good (and arrogant) enough to employ such a strategy against Brisbane, Collingwood, Gold Coast and Carlton, they'd have pulled it off with confident and assured footy, instead of looking like they were in trouble for most of those games.

I hate winning by 7 goals and being on top of the ladder. I reckon we should have a really hard look at ourselves. I mean obviously the premiership is going to the Hawks or the turds up the road. We should give up now, put the que in the rack and work on next year.

Hearing Roly's presser tonight, and answering the same dimwit questions, he stated that had someone said that Freo would be one game in front and on top of the AFL ladder after Rd. 15, no one would have believed it. Suffice to say, he's priming the V8 to fire when it matters. Bank the 4 Pts, secure top 2 spots, then it's game on.

Its strategy for sure, and the skills are even more evident when scrutinised
Kicking a ball to a player to either chest mark or take an overhead gives you about 2.5 sqm of area to hit. To go just over the finger tips or bounce just in font you have to be centimetre perfect. Hitting the perfect position on the side of the boot to have the ball sail over the boundary line or just to the wrong side of the goal post, much harder than hitting the top of your foot.
These are skills that only the elite posses
