Burma has been relegated - it now competes in the regional nostalgia division with Peking, Bombay and Stalingrad. It's not so bad, they run a tight ship in that division. For instance, Rhodesia was given the flick way before race-based atrocities in Zimbabwe were widely recognised as the other side of the same coin. However, of all the forgettable sods in the nostalgia division, only Peking is battling hard for promotion into the premier present-day league - they are hoping that certain misguided controls over stock trading will slur grammatical translations into Anglais enough to be recognised on world maps again.
Besides, Myanmar is a great name - my Gran had her kitchen countertop resurfaced with it way back in the '60s.
