Not much actually. This week's performances pretty much confirms a lot of what I thought before, e.g. see last week's What I learnt comments.
We have been off our best off a few weeks.
Hawthorn have always been the team to beat. They plan to peak in Sept not June.
Our lack of key position tall forwards was always going to be an issue
Pav seems to have altered his approach when taking a set shot from around 40-50m out. Today he was taking a couple of skips and arcing out to the right, as if he is struggling to make the distance. Not a good sign.

We will see plenty of Sept action but the Hawks deserve to be GF favorites.

I learnt that channel two had an interesting documentary on Peter Sculthorpe. His music is easier to understand then why my team dishes up this rubbish. Any team, anywhere except Tassie.

ii) Pav is still our best forward
iii) Duffield is terrible under a high ball
iv) 1000 possessions for Peel doesn't mean you are ready to step up.
v) not sure what column to put Sandi in on the balance sheet - asset or liability

i Fyfe still can't handle being tagged (and scragged) he's gotta keep his cool and get used to it.
ii Mitchell is a cheat...
iii Mitchell is a great player and doesn't need to cheat.
iv Sandi's missed mark right a the start cost us a goal and set the theme - give him a rest and bring in Griff.
v Mayne tried hard.
vi I'm depressed. I just can't get my head around how we can be so good then become so crap in a few weeks.
vii surprisingly eased the pain to watch without sound.
viii even easier to endure with the sound turned down and the TV off....

ii) Being sent back to Peel might be
III) Seem to be a few passengers, and some complacency happening
iv) why is that that when watching other teams on TV, they seem to be able to hit a target in their forward line who is on the lead by themselves, yet we seem to be bombing it on top of a pack.
v) In light of iv, someone needs to make up some story about sumich being the greatest coach, so we can get a forward line coach who knows what they are doing

I learned that the start of the season has no bearing on how we will go when it counts.

i. Comprehensively outplayed by a more skillful side
ii. Comprehensively outcoached again. Lyon seems to have been worked out and has no plan B...and isn't that why we laughed at Worsfold
iii. Its still a VFL. Umps didn't even pretend to be even handed today. Straightout did all they could to boost Hawthorn's score. If Abbot wants a Royal Commission, he could do worse that look at the AFL for institutionalised corruption.
iv. This is not our year. We still have tough games to go and falling out of the top 4 is not that hard to imagine. Will not finish top 2

Definately time for zac Clarke to go back to peel, give griff a go - seems to be reluctance to play Sandi and griff together ? Why - dare I say it - Ballas might need a spell - bring in crozier.... But all is not lost we got smashed Hawks in 2013 and still made the GF ....

- in a prelim or GF v Hawks youd play Crowley on Mitchell
- I though today was going to be circuit breaker which reclaibrated the lads I was wrong.
- Alex Pearse's game was only thing that made me happy today.
- I am too heart broken for Roman Numerals

I don't think it's our worst loss under Ross - I just think everyone thought we would give a much better contest given we are on top and that apart from MJ - pretty much available. Need to do some serious tinkering with game plan to be Hawks away from home ....
