What is wrong with our team at the moment, because the first three quarters really was a little alarming?

Don't sweat it hypen.

It was basically a turn around of the last derby but back to front. We didn't play the first 3qtrs but slaughtered them in the last, as opposed to slaughtering them in the first qtr and not playing the last 3.

We roughly doubled their score and number of scoring shots. Its what you expect when a top side plays a bottom side in wet conditions.

As I said before, we are an average team in the wet. The skills you need for playing in the wet aren't really the ones that'll win a grand final.

Despite our possie, I think we're in line for getting royally smashed next week. We're not playing like a minor premier should be. While the weather was atrocious the first half, Freo matched it for craptabulousness. Brisbane did alright considering where they are.

The amount of rain we play in is alarming. Rain is the equaliser we don't need and we are winning in it.

Drubbing, we got up to beat Collingwood by a couple of goals. The Hawks beat Collingwood by a couple of goals. I reckon it will be close.

We were at home to Collingwood. They get altitude sickness even thinking about getting on a bus to the airport. That pies game was in greasy, but better conditions than today, and we still flubbed it all around the ground.

Drubbing, last year when the Hawks came to town, I seemed to recall, we went into the game as underdogs, much like what the punters and you are saying. I'm hoping it rains, cause we've had plenty of practice playing in it. I like the fact we're underdogs, the expectations is much lower on the Richter scale. I'm putting my money on the purple, thanks.

Every modern AFL team is average in the wet. The wet (rain or dew) is the great leveller.

We've played five in a row in the slick, won 4 at around 110%. I'm okay with that.

The rain made Barlows jumper stretch down to actually cover his backside?

At 3/4 time they worked it out, cut his jumper short & everything returned to normal?

Around the ball we were poor, we didn't have an option when kicking or hand passing out of the congestion; no structure as it were. Lots of errant kicks to Brisbane players and lots of handballs not to advantage but as a means of off loading responsibility.

I see no point in saying we were anything but crap, but why I am not too sure. Wasn't about a misfiring fwd line today as inaccurate as they were.

I think we need to pull numbers out of the contest and set up - one or two kicks away from the contest cause we don't seem to have options once we win the ball at the moment.

I'm with Drubbing. We will get touched up. Remember what happened the following week after that hard slog in Adelaide ? Well this round we play a genuine top 4 team in Tasmania exactly 7 days after playing in atrocious, draining conditions. The Hawks have had an 2 extra days to recover and have less distance to travel. Unless RL has learnt from the Richmond match and rotates his the match day 22 from the Brisbane game, we are in for a hiding.

It has little to do with the conditions - we lost to Richmond and we've been playing Richmond in different team colours since. I said it at the time, and I'll say it again - the Tiggys (Chocko I suspect) worked out how to beat us and every team we've played since has done exactly the same (or at least tried their best to). I sit in the city end and watch the same opposition structure week in, week out (when we've been at Subi).

It's kind of embarrassing really, none of the brains trust in the control box can work out a way to puncture a few holes in it. As such, we are wearing ourselves out just trying to put more and more effort into slugging out a victory - against Richmond, week in/week out.
