Quick off the mark, positions well to protect the ball or go for the spoil and kept his feet so looking good. Getting these games under his belt at CHB now means come finals he would hold up as a tall third back if required.

Fre-Doh you are so on the money re the forward line.I was at the game and the bloke next to me made that point strongly.The lad is a good mark rangy and is a brave footballer who thinks out what he is going to do.Lets face it without injuries he would not have had a look in,I recall Mundy got an early start due to injuries in his early years.The boy couldnt do any worse than all the others tried so far in our forward structure.Tabener needs more time and I think Pearce is more advanced skill wise.I would also look at taking young Grey to his Home state this game as well.

While Pearce to the forward line will work, he would have the same problems Tabs is having, and would not be any more value. As a defender, you can go for the ball with one option, to go forward to a teammate, and opponents aren't focussed totally on stopping you getting the ball.. As a tall forward it becomes a lot more complicated, with all opponents around you trying to scrag, drag, and chop you. Their focus is on you and the ball, not getting a goal.

Absolutely Matt, but if we ever have Johnno, Zac D and SCOS all available at the same time, then trying AP in the forward line may be the only way to keep him in the team.

Would you rather he went back to Peel for another year or two?

Fortunately the likelihood of Zac D walking into a no parking sign or SCOS having a piano fall on his head from a nearby pine tree is so high that AP should be able to stay in the backline.
