Reckon the MRP will give him a week just coz they can. Looked like a good hard tackle no secondary action and the other Swans blokes took no issue with Mr Schulz. He also seemed to show genuine concern, being the first to motion for medical staff when he realised Big Ted was out.

It's careless, high impact and high contact so he's done.

It wasn't a second action but he lifts up his legs and used the weigh of his body to take Richards to the ground. Schultz can't control the fall and, with his arms pinned, neither can Richards.

As Port will most likely not feature in the finals he probably will get the full penalty. MRP must set an example when it does not interfere with the dollars rolling in. Cynical analysis I know but lets see what happens.

Rampe laid a similar tackle on Westoff only 2 mins earlier but Westoff jumps up and plays on, so doesn't rate a mention.
I'd have thought if the real intent is to stop the potential for head injuries then the idea should be to stamp out the behavior, not the tackle per se but rather the 270-360 turn and dumping of the tackled player to the ground.
Doubt you'll do that only penalizing the behavior when someone is hurt.

It may be a simple/silly analogy but do we only charge people for speeding or drink driving when it results in someone getting hurt?
I'd have thought we frown on/penalize the behavior coz it greatly increases the chances of someone being hurt.

The Shultz and Carazo(?) tackles looked exactly the same when played one after the other so three weeks down to two for early.

On reflection the MRP will let him off otherwise they would be consistent.

If ‘experts’ (I'm looking at you Wayne Carey) used 5% of time they spent complaining about not understanding the tribunal / umpiring rules, actually investigating the rules, watching televised footy would be a more pleasant experience.

Schultz’ tackle is different to Gibbs’ because it wasn’t too actions.

Still, he is facing the prospect of careless conduct, high impact, which would give him two weeks. Did he ‘drive’ his opponent into the ground when his arms are pinned, or was it momentum? It’s a tough call.
