TOPIC: Charles Dixon

BPurple, the only trade Melbourne would even consider for Hogan is Fyfe. Nothing, but nothing, else would be acceptable...until he is out of contract.

Demo1, Brisbane have the opportunity to be really, really cruel to their Queensland cousins over Dixon.

Their offer, if it is true, will eliminate any other suitors for Dixon's services.

Dixon is not a free agent (no compo pick for GC) but he will be an uncontracted player. As such he can nominate for the Pre-Season Draft and Brisbane can pick him up for free (using their last, unused pick from the National Draft).

Relations will get decidedly frosty in SE Queensland if that happens.

We've got Pav, Tabs, AP,Griffin and Hurley. Dixon will go to Brisbane unless we pay way way way overs. We dont need to pay big bucks for a forward.

We can use Clarke and Barlow for trades and boost our backline and midfield.

In today's game you need about 13 I reckon, plus some on the bench.

Yikes! We will have to erect a Mid fielder proof fence like our pioneering for fathers did for the rabbits.

In no particular order
i. Fyfe
ii. Mundy
iii.Neale
iv. Barlow
v. De Boer
vi. Mzungu
vii. Suban
viii. Hill
ix. C Pearce
x. D Pearce
xi. Weller
xii. Blakely
xiii. Langdon
xiv. Grey
xv .Sheridan
xvi. Crozier
Walters particularly, and Ballantyne also have a run through the middle and without looking at our list there could be others at Peel that I've left out.

Agree we need more backmen(and forwards) but midfielder we've got plenty of. Not to say that some of them couldn't be used as trades.

P.S. Is this a record number of roman numerals used?

xviii. Crowley
xix. Deluca.

xxi. Hughes (rookie).

Morabito (unfortunately) and Crowley wont be there next year and probably a couple of others on that list. Mundy in the veteran class too.
Hence I think we should try and buy/negotiate for one of the following from GC:
1.Bennell or
2.O'Meara or
3.Swallow

Forget Dixon (asking way too much). Get a top midfielder from above list of 3 and play Fyfe as a key forward, CHF preferably. Stick with Tabs, Clarke and Apeness + Pearce and Smith.
Bring in Weller, Langdon and Blakely progressively.

Btw I too am wrapped in Tommy Lynch (GC). He's a beauty.

Still think Jonathon Patton is the go.
I know - dodgey knee - but time will fix that.

Lynch is a beauty all right. Makes you wonder how St Kilda and Adelaide let him go, though he did break his neck somewhere along the line. I think Maric left Crows for Tigers in some sort of three-way deal. Can't recall who the Crows and Saints got in return. Anyway, he's a Victorian who clearly does not mind leaving his home State so he's worth a shot at when his contract expires.

How the medieval word for furrowing do you boost your midfield by trading out Mikey Barlow????

Whoa there TheCheg, you've got your Tom Lynch's confused.

There are two of them - a 1990 version and a 1992 version.

The 1990 version plays for Adelaide and he was involved in the Maric trade.
Adelaide gave Maric to Richmond and received #37 in the 2011 National Draft from Richmond.
Adelaide then gave #37 to St Kilda and received 1990 version Lynch in return. St Kilda used #37 to draft Jack Newnes.
This is the Lynch who had his jaw broken in the Viney incident and later suffered a 'broken neck'. Happily he's fully recovered and is a Crows regular.

The 1992 version was a first round draft pick in the 2010 National Draft and has spent his entire career at Gold Coast .

Trade Barlow??? Mick Barlow is everything Freo stands for. I can't believe it was suggested.
