When the State of Origin coach was announced, I was in disbelief that JLo wasn't picked to coach the WA state side. Instead, it was Dean Cox who has done nothing as a coach except take a side that made a Grand Final the year before to completely missing finals football altogether. Not exactly a ringing endorsement of your coaching abilities.
Meanwhile, JLo has done a good job rebuilding Freo and getting one of the youngest and least experienced sides in the competition into finals footy. I assumed he mustn't have been interested in being involved or had other commitments stopping him from coaching WA.
Now that he's been announced as an assistant coach, I'm once again baffled. Why is Cox, the 1-year coach who tanked Sydney considered the head coach over JLo?!
