Melbourne Age reporting that Fremantle is considering rookie listing Mason Cox as a backup to Darcy and Jackson.

Hmmm. I’m totally unsure about this one.
Darcy is unpredictable with injuries and Jackson is wasted in the ruck, so could be an inexpensive option.
On the other hand…

The Texan strikes me as a Trump man.

Makes a lot of sense recruiting someone the same height as Sandi to Freo. Apart from brother Chad and a few basketballers, Mason would be only the other one who could reach the pedals on Aaron's lawnmower.

As for putting a 139 game player on a "rookie list" this complete sham has been allowed to happen for decades.

Ok there is no WAY he is a Trump supporter. Unrelated: my hesitation about him would be because i once heard him saying things in an interview that sounded a bit snobby about which teams he was willing to play for when he first came over. Which is rich coming from him if you ask me. I think he’s probably a nice young man but I can’t forget hearing him make those comments.

He wouldn’t cope with playing for Peel and a quick tour of Cockburn and Mandurah after 8pm will help him make his mind up.

Haven’t trusted anything written in a Melbourne newspaper since the Argus shut down its printing presses in 1957.

I'm not really sure about this. At first I was totally against but on thinking about it more I think it could work quite well. My only issues would be salary wise wouldn't want to be too much, plus how he fits with the young player group. He would have played under Longmuir at Collingwood so I couldn't imagine him being able to big note himself too much. It also depends on how he fits in with the Jacko/Darcy comradery and teamwork, plus how he deals with the likelihood of him spending a fair amount of time at Peel assisting in the development of Aiden Riddle. Worth mentioning also that Peel have signed up a mature age ruck from Myrtleford in Victoria, 20 year old Toby Cossor, 207cm, 110kg.to replace Liam Reidy. Apparently there are good wraps on this guy and he's a competitive beast so not sure how the big man department would work with him, Mason Cox and Aiden Riddle plus Corey Tregenza who also pinch hits in the ruck along with his forward duties. If anything, I can see pressure placed on Jye Amiss to lift his rating as he and Cox seem the 2 players who may compete for a tall forward spot in the line up. All in all though, probably not the worst option compared to Teakle and Boyd, the other 2 options floated for a ruck berth on our list. I'd also comsider picking up young Cody Curtin from Claremont in the draft if possible as he appeals a very good tall forward/ruck option going forward in the mould of Riley Thilthorpe, a Freo supporter, models himself on Josh Treacy and has also spent some time training at the club.

Not sure where Curtin will go in the draft, but has played as a key position backman and forward and is 200cms. Offers all sorts of options.

I don’t mind it as long as he doesn't cost too much salary wise. Unless we have injuries he will spend a fair bit of time at Peel. As mentioned the ruck depth is very young and inexperienced now that Reidy is gone.

See this is where we needed Shane to be able to link this to further proof that the Masons are taking over Fremantle.
He's missed for many reasons.

I'm sure he won't cost us much and I'd be happy to have him on a short-term, maybe two year, deal.
