I agree jezzargh, I'll tune in around 2125 when the standard improves to a professional level. In 10 years of AFLW, the standard has improved from U13 Boys to about U15 Boys level in terms of size, skills and strength.
I can't fault the effort, but whenever I watch it, all I see are dropped marks, dumb decision making and poor disposal. They make Matt Taberner look like Tony Lockett.
Hawthorn "kicked" 0.3 for an entire game. Even if the game goes for a shorter time, you expect to see more goals than that, otherwise you're just watching junior footy.
Perhaps not 2125, but in 20 years hopefully the standard will have improved when girls have played it since birth, and not by using imported players from other sports. There's probably only one or two players in every AFLW team that I would consider a real footy player, e.g. Turbo for the Dockers or Roberts for the Slime.
Soccer is fairly boring, but if you compare women to men, the standards are comparable. But it's probably because no one scores anything!
