Not sure we'll have many in the squad, perhaps Clark, Bolton, McVee, Jackson. After that it's pretty doubtful with only Erasmus, O'Meara, Johnson, Banfield and Amiss the only locals who suit up in the Purple on a regular basis and I really can't see any of those getting a spot in the squad even with O'Meara probably the pick of that group. Walters and Fyfe would have been walk up starts had they not been retired. Can't honestly see how Elliott Yeo is being seriously pushed by the media as worthy of a spot given how long he's been out of the game.

A first year coach who took his team from a Grand Final under his predecessor to missing finals all together. Bizarre choice for the WA coach unless JLo turned it down for some reason.

It would've been a good opportunity to work with some West Aussies from around the league like Chad Warner, build those relationships.

if the question is, how can you claim to be the winner of State of Origin if you haven't played and beaten the South Australian team, the answer is obviously that this is because we already know the South Australian team would be the shitest of the three State teams.

My view the entire concept is flawed.

In 1977 to 1986 the WAFL was a strong competition we had our homegrown heroes and our WA guys who played VFL. To my knowledge no Vics playing in the WAFL ever wore the Big V.

So at the time we could cheer our WA heroes and easily release our visceral hatred for the Vics.

40 years on things have changed. Most of the WA team will be from non WA based clubs many of them left as 18 year olds we have little connection with them unless we support their AFL club. Some of Vics could be from WA based clubs. Andy Brayshaw had already expressed his interest in playing for Victoria. I don’t have any parochial dislike or hatred toward Andy he is and has been a loyal and dedicated docker.

So in going to the game where is my passion? Where is my hate? I just feel apathy.

Graham Moss played for Victoria in 1975 and I hated that. At least with State of Origin you don't have to line up against a team that includes the best from every state
