He's actually a really good kick.

Well, he's a better kick than earlier in the season. He kicked 1.2 on Thursday night so not quite there yet.

Matthew Lloyd identified that it was the ball drop that was wrong and to Pat's credit he's a much improved set shot.

He looks like Jonathan Brown at the same age and could be anything. Hopefully he doesn't get the 2nd (3rd?) year blues next year and can go on with it.

I like Hodor like the next guy but with Pat as back up ruck to Jackson, is there room for 5 rucks / tall forwards in the side? Geelong need a replacement for Stanley - just saying.

Jackson is a midfielder/ruckrover, and Voss is a forward, just sayin'.

If you want to prolong the footy career of Jackson, I wouldn’t be playing him in the ruck position. He’s our bigger version of Patrick Cripps.

Now Voss is kicking goals, it’s hard not to like him. Absolute team man, I liked that he stepped in to help Bolton when 4 Essendon players were into him, Vossy had 3 of them covered.

I don't understand either Matt or Noddy's comments. Jackson is a mobile ruckman who (like most ruckmen) goes forward, and he also occasionally plays ruck-rover. But if Treacy, Amiss & Voss are already in the forward line, where is Darcy, on the bench?

If Darcy is rucking, Jackson will play ruck-rover, so Voss is just a forward again.

If Darcy isn't playing, Voss is the backup ruck to Jacko, just like Treacy & Taberner have been previously to Darcy himself.

But to be clear, Jacko wouldn't want a role that didn't allow being in the ruck, either all of the time or some of the time. He is more Dean Cox than Mark Blicavs, playing style wise.

Jackson’s versatility is a good problem for us and a nightmare for the opposition.

When he rucks his gets his fair share of more of taps and his incredible follow up ability is like having an extra midfielder. And his around the ground work is the best in the league.

When he’s ruck roving to Darcy we get an advantage in clearances and when he drifts forward how many midfielders can compete with him in terms of air?

It seems that JLo has only recently started to get a handle on how to best deploy this bloke, and I like the idea of using him unpredictably to unsettle the opposition. He must be close to the most potent threat in the game.

I think the penny dropped for JL last year when he shifted Hayden Young and Serong around to rest them forward and get more goals from the mids.
The use of Wagner and the flexibility of Banfield has seen JL switch the magnets far more than has been previously acknowledged.
