I believe the AFL have only given a club concessions due to them being a new club, in financial difficulty or, in Sydney’s case (which was a bloody farce) the cost of living being ‘SO much higher’.
The Slime do not fit in any of these categories. Their situation is totally self inflicted, driven by incompetence and massive egos.

They continue to be one of the wealthiest clubs in the AFL. They shouldn’t be given any concessions whatsoever until they are in the position that NM were in, down to about 18k membership, then maybe they could need a little help… or a shove into the ocean…

Look it just makes sense - when Tassie comes in, the team ranked 18th for the prior 5 years gets wound up.
We dont want 19 teams neither does gather round.
If that just happens to be WCE then so be it and its a blessing for all.
The AFL cant be associated with a club that is just so bad with no chance to turn it around.

What makes most sense is sending the failed WCE to Tassie. Relaunch them as the Tassie Devil-Eagles. Saves Tasmania the trouble of recruiting an entire club full of players and officials. They can be instant wooden spooners, without the hassle, and the AwFuL still has a nice round number of clubs for its pet project, Gather Round.

It’s how it should be.
