Like others, I'm warming to Voss, but he is not a smart footballer.
That high tackle was awful. Swinging arm, hit him high, and then seemingly had no idea what the free kick was for, nor did he bother to show any contrition. Freo were up by 10 goals with less than 5 minutes to play.
He's carved out a nice role as third forward and back-up ruckman, in a team where he's unlikely to play save for injuries. This sort of thing is self-sabotaging.
When coaches are picking players 18-23 they consider positional need and talent development, but on the big calls they tend to pick players they trust. Voss needs to pull it in a little because - more than most - I reckon JLo will pick players who are reliable. Voss isn't.
