Eggy
Backs: Cox Pearse Draper
Half Backs: Ryan Walker Clark
Centre: O'Driscoll O'Meara Sharp
Half Forward: Reid Frederick Switkowski
Forwards: Jackson Treacy Amiss

Followers: Reidy, Serong, Brayshaw
Interchange: Banfield, Johnson, Worner, Chapman, Wagner

Well, I guess three jobs, keep the site running, put up the team and produce a budget.

Is Shane on the Nat Fyfe pre-season program? Just getting his body and mind right early so he's in peak condition to tell us to pull our heads in at the business end of the season?

I like the 4 tall backline option, at least for this game against Geelong. Actually it's 5 if you include Ryan as Chapman is also playing.

Geelong always play a spare man in defence, so that's what Freo will be doing too. It is cover for Pearce in case he goes down and it allows Cox to roll forward Sicily-style.

Ryan plays tall or small, so he'll be running off half-back rotating with Clark, Walker and Wagner.

I'm a bit worried for Reidy against de Koning though, he'll need to improve.

Super-sub Banfield is a good choice, he always bobs up with a crucial goal in the last quarter.

I think against this type of ruck opponent Jackson will thrive.

And I probably would have played Voss instead of Reidy for this type of running non-physical ruckman.

***Note*** for those unaware Shane has joined the Trump Administration, he is heading up the Ministry of Truth, Oceana Division.

I agree Hypen, but my hope is that Reidy's role will be to give a good contest and try to wear de Koning down on a warm day, before pulling him around 3/4 time and letting a relatively fresh Jackson finish the job.

What's worrying is that we've replaced most of our small forwards with defenders in the line up. What that tells me is the midfielders are all going to spend a lot more time forward and at least one if not more of the half backs will push up to a wing.

I actually hope and would like to see Chappy up and running about there if he's been able to work on his tank this pre-season. However, we've definitely missed a trick by not playing another runner in Raz. He needs the AFL experience and if they won't even pick him now with Young, Fyfe and Bolton out of the midfield rotation, when are they going to pick him? He needs time and an extended run at AFL level to learn the speed of the game, build his awareness and decision making in the heat of battle. WAFL simply won't teach him that and is a waste. Not playing him basically says we see no future for him at the club.

We've gone over with a very tall line up compared to the Cats so we'll have to run hard.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

We’ve got the list to do well, it’s over to the coaching staff to select the right team for the opposition we face and get our guys up and about for the contest. We miss Fyfe, the guy was and is inspirational, time for others to step up big time.
