TeamDocker, we had 8 wins and 4 losses in the games Darcy played in 2024 (on that ratio a top 4 team), and 4 wins, 6 losses and a draw when he didn't play (on that ratio a bottom 5 team).
That includes the period at the start of the year when I thought Jackson was very good in the ruck. Sadly, Jackson was completely outplayed in the ruck in the back half of the season, so much so they had to bring Reidy in to at least give us a contest.
I know that stat has a lot of variables in it (schedule strength, other injuries etc), but I think Darcy is, literally, huge for us, even if his wheels aren't 100%.
I think Young is probably a better player than Hodor, but if you replace Young in the center square with someone like O'Driscoll or O'Meara or Johnson that hurts way less than replacing Darcy with Reidy.
