Development Plans for Freo Oval(home of our AFLW girls) are open for comment.
It's fantastic to get upgraded facilities.
My interpretation of the plans is no seating behind one goal end.
Not much increase in shade - not very helpful in our weather if games in October/November and summer for any sporting/community event. An opportunity to increase shaded areas should be taken up.
Also, it appears pedestrian walkways willl be implemented in front of a lot of seating, especially the goal ends. seating on the boundary in the sun is common.
Unless you are on the boundary, in the sun, it will entail watching people walk around the Oval and not the actual event. Pedestrians should be behind patrons viewing any event on the oval. Not all walking in front of half attendees.
Also, the broadcast will potentially look terrible with everyone just walking around goals with no seated patrons.
Just my interpretation, I may be seeing things incorrectly.
I hope the facility ends up amazing.
