I mean it is, you are saying something is possible under circumstances that make it not. Brayshaw isn't going to leave for a couple hundred thousand more elsewhere, he's committed to Freo and has no intention to head anywhere else. He's more likely to be made captain next season than leave for a little more cash elsewhere.

Of all the players who have represented the club in the past, he is the most steadfast in his belief of his teammates and himself. The drive he has for success and bringing the rest of the club along with him is second to none.

Even in the proposed scenario, there is no guarantee of Warner replacing him or if Brayshaw left, how that would effect others in the squad. Would his mates Serong and Young also follow him out the door? Who else would be a casualty? How would the rest of the side maintain their commitment to the clubs' goals on the field and the club's treatment of players as mercenary's after building such a strong attachment?

It simply would never happen.

You’re talking in weirdly absolute terms. Unless you’re his dad or his manager, or have a close personal relationship with him then what you say is simply your opinion.
Guys like Schulz. Logue and Neale were “part of the furniture” and loved the club. Then they got their heads turned. It happens.
If you’re his dad, then I’m happy to stand corrected, but if not, your comments are no more based on fact than mine.
I’m sure he’s loyal, I’m sure he loves the club, and I expect he’ll stay. But your comment has about 15 pointless “ifs” in it. These are professional sportsmen we’re talking about, not 22 brothers who went to war together.
I also have a strange feeling it was you who shouted me down as being foolish when I said Bolton was a good shot to come to Freo about 9 months ago. Any comment on that?

It behooves Freo to keep this combination of players together for some seasons to come, whatever it takes: Jackson, Brayshaw, Serong, Young, Sharp, O'Driscoll, Johnson and Erasmus. Hopefully add Bolton and Warner. There's a premiership midfield/ forward combo right there. You know that makes sense. My only worry is the durability of Darcy. Fingers crossed.

Firstly, I didn't shout anyone down about Bolton. Stating at the start of the season that he was contracted for a long time with no ability to move was a fact and clearly things changed over the course of the season (ie. Richmond being rubbish and committing to tanking) that made Bolton's contract status less relevant and opened the door to Richmond wanting to trade him.

Next, it's incredibly relevant to take into consideration the intent and personality of a player when making these considerations. While I do know a lot of people in footy circles and who interact with Andy and a bunch of the players, it's perfectly clear that Andy is in for the long haul and is not the type of person to jump ship. The 'ifs' are coming from you Joe, not me. I'm relaying the messaging Andy and the club have been putting out since he joined us, not the 'if' Andy wants to leave stuff.
