I think the umpire needs to hand the ball back to the player awarded the free kick. Sometimes the crowd is so noisy that the players can’t hear what’s going on. GWS we’re twice disadvantaged by that stupid rule ( not handing the ball back to the correct person)

Nah, GWS put the Cue in the Rack in the 3rd with 12mins left to go and went to the Pub to Celebrate. They should have have totally cleaned out the lions, but this season, don't play 4 QTRs of effort Footy say goodbye to the game. This would be a good game for our team to be shown at preseason 2025.

Yeh sunny i agree those three 50's changed the game. all could have easily been ignored .
Looking at the game there was no way GWS put the cue back ,they were just as desperate as Lions to win.
Why the hell did Daniles not just go back and slot it.
Brissie did not deserve to win .
Commentators are crapping on about the greatest comeback ever,ya what? Umps got caught up in the emotional side of what they created with bad decisions.
At least only one vic team left, but i think Cats will demolish Brissie

in the wash up of a weird season, some teams seemed to take more advantage of rhe fixtures than others

On late season form, GWS did nor deserve a Top 4 spot, Brisbane did.

I don't think Carlton deserved 8th either

I agree with Carlton,but thats more our fault.
But GWS had the harder run home ,beating,Mel,Hth,Brissie,us,and lost to Bullies ,whereas Brissie,beat gcst,stkil, lost to gws, and coll,and beat mel.

yeah Frad, I know.

but GWS rode their luck with the wins over Hawks & Brissie, the same way we failed to take the opportunities presented to us in those last rounds.

If Brissie had kicked straight, or they'd played the Hawks away (like we had to), or we managed to win what was a winnable game when we met them at Manuka - the ladder would've better reflected the last half of the season I reckon.

I like the Giants, but would have also liked our chances against them in an elimination final more so than Brissie

I want Brissie to thrash Geebung and then play Port in the GF.

And as far as umpiring is concerned I really don't envy the umps. Finals are so difficult. I reckon Freo play better when the umps don't blow the whistle too much. Except for Hawthorn - the umps need to step up and crack down on "unsociable football".
