Keiran Briggs listed as a test to play, if he doesn't they play back up big man Lachie Keefe, not a specialist ruck. If Reidy plays he may be able to bash and crash a not fully fit Briggs or beat up on a non specialist ruck in Keefe. Either way there is an opportunity for our highly rated midfield to take control and make a statement by winning clearances and getting the ball inside 50 to get a decent score. Show how good they are.

Reidy should have played last week.
I'd love to see Reidy and gauge whether he's ready for AFL yet.

If Darcy & Treacy don’t play, Reidy must replace Taberner from last week’s team.

It’s weird how people expect players with great potential who barely get an AFL game to be judged on one or two games.

Until the recent Geelong game Voss has been pretty good when he’s filled in, apart from inaccurate kicking for goal.

Sure, the dropped marks on Saturday were disappointing, but I seem to recall Treacy dropped his fair share in his first couple of seasons.

Do we really need to kick heads when a player has an isolated bad game?

Time for Reidy to lead the ruck - we need Jackson up front.

Voss is OK, attacks the ball and unafraid of physical contact. Plays like Treacy and he and Amiss will be glad to be rid of Tabs on Saturday. Tabs leading patterns did not help Amiss and Voss as he frequently led to same spaces and didn't allow them to get 1 on 1 contests.

Reidy in the ruck and Jackson plays forward with times in the middle when required ie when the game is on the line and you need to win it. Like last week should have been.

Playing Jackson as a lead ruck is like ploughing a field with a thoroughbred race horse

Out of our current crop of forwards, who’s the most likely to become an AA defender?

A small sample size so far, I hope triple J hit their straps and make a few others have to consider their options on how to get into the side .

There’s seems to be a consensus building that not picking Reidy is bad coaching. I don’t really agree. Here’s a few reasons I reckon Jlo would be reluctant to pick Reidy this week.

Coaches don’t love putting first-gamers into must-win games. They are all control freaks, and the range of potential negative outcomes is just too great for coaches to handle. That’s not a JLo thing – that’s an every coach thing.

The ruck is a unique position, but there’s something to be said for when you’re facing a marginal selection call, maybe just pick the bloke who is better at football. Voss had a shocker last week, and I don’t think Tabs helps us, but I reckon both would be better footballers at this stage that Reidy. Reidy doesn’t seem to mark the ball around the ground (he averages less than 2 marks a game in the WAFL!). He’s not going to give you anything outside the taps, so you’re basically playing one short for 95% of the game. It’s too big a cost just for the chance to win taps, especially where Reidy hasn’t played with our midfielders and so you can’t expect there to be great connection on hits to advantage.

Games are won in the middle. Jackson is – at times - a ruckman. He’s not played well in the ruck lately, but he should be able to influence the game in the middle more than a GWS second-stringer, even if he doesn't win the taps. Jackson just needs to pull his finger out.

I don’t think we’ll see both Tabs and Voss in the team, and I think we might see Voss and another option. Maybe we play smaller forward, perhaps someone like Hughes or Davies comes in with the idea of Cox going forward at times.

I think any of those options are better than playing Reidy.
