AFL suck!



Won't get home until after 9 PM on our super-efficient and in no way overzealously-administered special events train and bus system.

At least they are forced to use a yellow ball at that time. The only consolation.

That's actually pretty good slot.

All juniour sports for the weekend should be done.

And it is the same day as Perth City to Surf which cuts the burbs in half from CBD to the Coast pushing extra traffic on to Fwy , so that'll be all packed up too.

Bye week for finals means no 6 day break following.

Plus the drama of knowing exactly what a W or L will do to our final position means I can look forward to 3 hours of shaking uncontrollably.

Some people work very early shifts and don't wat to get home at bedtime!!
As for Ciry to Surf. A Saturday night game was the day before C to S and no concerns about traffic. Would also be after the WC game so no clashes.
As for Dees and Pies getting another Friday - what on Earth? And sick of watching the same teams on a Friday. There are some great teams with brilliant players in the AFL but we basically get the same players forced on us week after week. With the odd different team thrown in. Should have been two top 8 teams on Friday night - I don't mean any particular team but teams who have earnt the right. This may change but at time of these fixtures neiher are top 8.
Nice to see the two teams not travelling get Friday too and Port having to travel Sunday night. What a surprise!!
Over the bias of the VFL.

Country people find 2.30 Sunday games hard enough let alone 4.10. Lots of Busselton people sit near us.

391 not sure we play that well when we know we must win to attain a certain spot - eg Essendon game where we could have finished 3rd.

Anyone with social sport on a Saturday, both playing or with kids/relatives involved is happy for a Sunday afternoon when normally there is nothing else on.

Additionally, it's a fantastic time slot for the team as they will now have an 8-day break which by the way the side is struggling in last quarters, we could definitely use.

The Broken Hill will still be open on the final siren you can go and have a few pints and dance around the bar in celebration or have a pint and go and shove your head down the men's egg cup in frustration.

So 7 out of 10 Vic teams play in Vic for the last round, while 3 out of 8 non-Vic teams play in their home state.

SA are punished for Gather Round by having no games in Adelaide in round 24.

Only Essendon play a non-Vic side away. The Hawks play North Melbourne in Tassie - so no loss of home ground advantage there.
