It’s a ‘big’ story with the following, ‘Warning: The following story contains language which may offend some readers.’ Hilarious, we’ve gone weak and soft, with little sense of humour.

I was in Technical drawing class back in the 70’s and the grumpy (warning some readers may find this offensive) old b****rd of a teacher threw not a possum football but a T square and wood blackboard duster at students and kids thought nothing of it except we better pay attention. Oh to have a possum football thrown at you, luxury.

Former ABC Chair on ABC radio on Monday said some journalists at the public broadcaster did not always present both sides of a story. Ita is quoted “I think there’s no harm in presenting both sides of an argument and I don’t understand the reluctance of some of our interviewers not to do that,” Presenting the facts both sides of an argument, isn’t that what good journalism is?

The ABC are currently irrelevant.

Noddy you did make me laugh. We had a Tech drawing teacher who loved to toss the chalk duster around to good effect and could slam a tee square down in a way it went off like a rifle shot in class.

I had a maths teacher who threw dusters at kids. He had a car rear view mirror mounted at the top of his blackboard to make it easier for him to pick his victims.

The passage of time doesn't make wrong bastards like that any less wrong. It highlights how wrong bastards used to be surrounded by an awkward silence before someone roused the courage (and it takes a lot of courage) to stand up, point and say 'that bastard is wrong". Now we know that a lot of those wrong bastards were very, very wrong and we talk about various forms of abuse while the victims shuffle through their crippled lives into old age waiting for some small hope of restitution or apology to be made.

the ABC bends over so far to accommodate 'both sides' of some stories that it ends up giving air time to conspiracy theorists and cookers among all the other wrong bastards that don't deserve the light of day, let alone airtime on the national broadcaster.

Sorry Noddy... but too many people have fought too many battles to overcome the sorts of wrong you think is ok.
