It’ll never be fair. Both WA sides inevitably will travel more often and further than Vic teams.
However there are plenty of ways to soften the pain.

Watching the WB v SYD game and just heard that the Doggies have the next 5 games all at Marvel Stadium where Freo are not home again for a month with away games either sides of the bye.
The same for the gather round. Us members had 4 weeks between home games.
How can this happen twice in a season?
Surely we have a right as least to question this?

Footscray’s fixtures seem to encapsulate a lot of the unfairness/VFL bias. In round 12 just played, they had a Friday night ‘away’ game against Collingwood - but at their home ground, Docklands Stadium. In round 13, they have another Friday night game, this time at home to Brisbane, at Docklands. In round 14, after an 8 day break, they play Freo at home again, before their bye in round 15. How can this be considered a fair and even draw when compared to Freo’s round 12 trip to Alice Springs before the bye followed by travelling to Melbourne after the bye? The AwFuL fixtures are a very bad, unfunny joke.

Collingwood's next 11 games are 8 at the MCG and 1 at Marvel and away Suns and Sydney.
They have a Bye between two away games being Gold Coast and North at Marvel which might help with the rigours of travelling.
Imagine Freo playing 9 home games and two away for the rest of the season.

- so after getting home from last weeks game to the last game of the season they don’t travel at all!

The Dockers have 2 away games On either side of the bye, whereas Footscray get 2 successive home games before their bye, followed by an “away game” afterwards - against North Melbourne, at their shared home ground! Unfair doesn’t get close to describing the inequalities of the AwFuL fixtures.
