On Henry, he was a winger/half forward as a kid going through all of his colts and underage programs. He was never a small forward. Freo played him out of position as a small forward and he wasn't able to impact.

His skill set isn't based on speed, forward craft and finishing in front of goals. It's hard work running and being a link in the chain, disposing of the ball well and seeing options ahead of the ball that others can't while also having the skills to take those options. He's a taller player who should also fill out well enough to burst from stoppages with the ball in the future.

He's never shown any attributes that would lock him into a small forward position. He's a winger.

What games are you basing that on?
He played a total of 6 WAFL colts games..school footy came first.
Im pretty sure in the 18s he played forward mostly too but missed a few through injury..

I feel for Liam as his peak development year was taken away by being in a covid bubble and basically not playing for a year..We may be in a diff position now if he was able to show his wares a bit earlier..

I always thought Liam was being groomed to take over Sonny Walters spot when he retired. He just didn't seem to grab the opportunities that came his way in his first 2 seasons.

Here's a comparison - Bobby Hill kicks goals and takes spekky marks, so does Charlie. Cousin Brad runs 16km up and down the wing usually without troubling the scorers. Liam does the same as Brad. M. Walters needs no explanation.

Henry is not a goal kicker. Numerous times I've seen him short pass it into the forward line rather than take a shot because he's either not programmed to shoot like O'Driscoll is, or he can't kick further than 45 metres.

All I know is they're all Noongar stars from WA, so hats off to their success wherever they play

Herny played a high half forward role for WA at the U18 championships Demo, regularly racking up 20 quality touches and setting up scoring opportunities but rarely kicking goals. He was the guy you wanted making the kick inside 50. Similarly at colts level, he was a winger who spent time running through the middle then rested at half forward.

The only time he played as a forward pocket was at Freo. It was understandable in his first season or two as he came off a serious knee injury and didn't have the stamina or size to move higher up the ground. However, this season he's shown where he should play. He has had all the opportunity in the world to show and prove that this season and he's done a good job. He's not the finished product but he's proven he will be a star as he grows his game.
