Not a surprise, but always a bit sad. Wilson in particular was one of my favourites, and it’s a bit unlucky Freo’s form turned around too late for Wilson to be part of it.

In the early days of Perth Stadium, one of my favourite things was watching Wilson stroll out of the square and roost the ball fast and flat 60m to B Hill running into space on the wing.

Colyer never got a lot of the ball, but was really good when he had it. I really warmed to him over time.

Thanks for everything guys. Good luck for the Peel finals.

The other good thing about Wilson was that he didn’t hide the fact he hated the Eagles

I’ve always liked Wilson but the club is clearly focusing on the next generation and depth players who are over 30 are not going to get much of a run in the firsts.

Benning as well. Quietly slipped into the press-release.

Saw Wilson playing for Peel on TV recently he still goes better than average in the WAFL.

Funny old time of year and I too hate it. Thinking those we are delisting could go around again, those that want trades are traitors and worth a top ten draft pick, and those coming our way are twice as good as they have been.

I hope next year is our year and I am not sitting at game 4-5 thinking next year is it.

They better win the big one soon I have reached the tip over point where I probably have less years left than I have been a supporter.

It’s the unfortunate part of the game, every club needs to move on a certain amount of players every year to ensure they have a minimum of 3 picks at the draft.
Wilson & Colyer gone as well as Henry gives us 3 spots to fill.
Pretty sure Benning was a rookie so doesn’t count as a spot on the main list.
We then have some rookies to upgrade to the main list such as Treacy and Schultz (I recall he did the righty by the club a few years back and went onto the rookie list to allow us to have 3 spots to fill on the main list come draft day).
Will be interesting to see how we can fit Sharp on our list, may need to trade another one out.

I would have thought Wilson and Colyer were perfect depth players. I think it's a bad call. I guess you need to cut five. Does this mean there is one more to come?

I think Hamling is the only uncontracted player left, so it will be interesting to see what happens with him.
Unless someone else comes out and requests a trade.

What is Will Brodie's future? We got him for nothing. Is he worth keeping? JL seems somewhat indifferent to him. What is his contract situation?

Pretty sure Brodie signed a contract extension earlier in the season (and then couldn’t get a game from that point onward)

I'm realy going to miss these 2 guys, always gave everything whenever they played and seemed like great club men who loved the club. Young Liam could learn a thing or two from the way they conducted themselves and not to the promises of Colin Young. On Brodie I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that he had a 4 year deal which would mean that he's got 2 more years to go. I think also that Benning was on the main list, remember he was never a rookie pick up when drafted but Treacy and Banfield are so they have to be accomodated on the main list before we bring anyone else in.
I think Hamling stays as a tall defensive backup.
