It is becoming more and more obvious that the future of 3 players is intimately linked - Jackson, Lobb and Dunkley. So, we have two of these players in the trade game. This will go down to the wire (next Wednesday) and who blinks first - hopefully not us.

Perhaps as a ruckman, but not as a forward. He's not a great mark and doesn't kick goals.

Young has 2/3 done (Logue and Acres)
Freo has managed to get rid of 2 of Young’s clients from our list and got a F2 for Logue despite Young threatening to walk him to the PSD if we didn’t trade Lobb.
I’d say things are all square at this point.
Walls has called out Lobb’s (young’s) BS about wanting to be in Melbourne for family reasons by questioning why he only wants to go the bulldogs when there are other clubs interested.
I think we will trade Lobb, if the price is right.

Meek played 3 games this season in place of Lobb, partnering Darcy in the ruck. The loss vs the Saints, win vs Brisbane and win vs GWS. In those 3 games, they combined for 2 goals up forward and a total of 15 marks, far from a winning combination.

Just watching those games, it was clear the strategy wasn't working particularly well and that Meek was far from a natural forward. He wasn't horrible but you'd expect more from a 24yo tall forward. Meek is a ruckman though and it shouldn't be his job to kick 40 goals a season. Problem is, Darcy is the same age and a far better ruckman so Meek will only get games if Darcy is out or we're incredibly desperate forward.
