Corbett sounds like more like a Logue replacement, but with less ability to go back. He certainly wont cost much, in terms of salary or a trade. Probably $200k and a future third round pick.

Might be a better mark and straighter kick too.

It’s not about being negative but simply holding the freo administration to account.

They have not won a premiership in its history!

It is not all roses.

The outflow of talent from freo is an issue, that the more successful premiership winning clubs minimise.

Brisbane were a laughing stock 5 years ago, now everyone is trying to get there.

It can be done, the freo board of directors need to critically review.

I think the current administration is doing a great job, the only great loss was L Neale, rest were replaceable and the only one who got better since leaving is Langdon, his disposal was atrocious at Fremantle.

As for the current crop leaving most are replaceable. Acres has had 1 good year out of 9, let’s see how he goes at Carlton.

Logue, good bloke but where does he fit, Tucker, others have passed him on the list.

Lobb, needs to be a man in the house and show who’s the boss.

Meek, should bide his time, would only be the great loss

Logue, taken at pick 8, and traded for maybe a future 2nd round pick (if you can isolate the parts in the deal) is the most disappointing trade of the day.

Worst trade we've done for a while and whilst I've been a big fan of Griff and I understand his decision based on the deal they've promised him, I wont hear any of this "I hope Freo gets fairly compensated" crap from his camp as it was always obvious that they had us over a barrel and they could have offered us a future 4th rounder if they wanted. Griff knew what would happen when he chose North ahead of Essendon and other clubs chasing his signature. Purely selfish decision and he'll rightly cop a few boos when he fronts up against us next season.

Seeing what we have of him he really hasn't justified being taken at #8.

I don't think a second rounder from a week team in a strong draft is a bad deal for Logue. We overpaid by taking him with #8, when hindsight says we should probably have taken Tim English instead. Then again, if we had taken English, we probably wouldn't have taken Sean Darcy later in the draft. We also picked up Ryan and Cox so, on balance, I'd say we were winners in that draft.

It’s what we do with the Logue and Tucker picks that will determine the outcome of the trade, if we can use them to land Sharp, Corbett and a second rounder (preferably 25) from the Suns. I’d call it a win.
Likewise with Acres, if the future 3rd from Carlton can be bundled with Meek to extract pick 24 from hawks then we end up with back to back early second round picks to use this year.
Logue, Tucker, Acres & Meek for Sharp, Corbett, 24 & 25 doesn’t seem too horrendous to me.

Trading Meek will be a far bigger stuff up than getting a future second rounder for Logue, Meek is a keeper, sort the Lobb situation out, ie get him traded, and Meek can see some certainty in his future.

Moppy, Will Brodie was a clear gun and 4 years younger than Corbett. That and the reasons for Brodie not getting a game were due to injuries and then a logjam of inside midfielders keeping him out, nothing to do with how good a player he was.

There's no need to question Freo's culture or anything Exceed. In fact all those players leaving have praised the culture at the club and how they loved it here. Go check out Acres interviews after signing with Carlton, he loved Freo. There are so many other reasons which all have clarified as to why players have left. Pretty much all of those this season are due to being fringe players and wanting opportunity. If they struggle to get a game for us, I don't understand how you can whine about Freo losing 'talent'. I honestly don't know how you compare us to the basketcase that is the OOFTIT's and say we're struggling.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting picks for this year, you can throw a blanket over most of the draft and they're pretty similar. There's not a lot there to excite. We'd much prefer picks for the 2023 draft;
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

yeah Corp, I agree Logue hasn't lived up to pick 8, which is in itself part of the disappointment.

assessment of the trade does also need to factor in the whole out of contract and Norths first pick in the PSD context, which gives Freo very little leverage
