They buy their way to continue massive atmospheric pollution through the equally massive political influence they have (see the report; Captured State: The Influence of the Gas Lobby on WA).
Then buy their way to being seen as acceptable, through sponsoring community events & footy clubs.
Their being accepted & tolerated is the path forward to continue polluting. To accomodate this, eg accept sponsorship, is to condone the horrors that climate change will bring.
Yes government’s job is to set the playing field, and they have done an appalling job (the result of more corporate lobbying) but that shouldn’t mean people let the wool be pulled over their eyes and accept such a morally bankrupt and damaging company as our sponsor.
It’s a nice planet, let’s not make it uninhabitable. Or accept those who happily do so. It’s not about anyone being a ‘greenie’, it’s just plain common sense.
