bill Dempsey is an absolute champion I saw him play for the mighty cardinals ,Bill and mel whinnen are legends well deserved honour for bill. I shared the odd red wine with bill after work and can verify he is an absolute gentleman.

You'll love Bill even more after reading this biography on him. The Boy from Birdum by Steve Hawke is a great read. Bill comes across as so humble but tough. Hardly mentions his footy achievements but more about growing up in a boy's home and trying to survive while playing footy for West Perth. Living in a men's lodge early on in his career. Also about his family that he's so proud of. I think his grand son Mal Rosas played for Gold Coast against us on Sunday.

Bill was a great player and sounds like a wonderful bloke.

I’m an East Perth supporter and watched many Royals v Cardies battle. I think they may hold the record for WAFL crowd attendance for a home and away game.

If anyone can access and post some footage highlights of Bill playing that would be appreciated.
