In the wet, all the inside midfielders should have plenty of tackles. Brayshaw had 10, Brodie 8, Mundy 7 and even a winger in Acres had 8, tackles were an easy thing to come by in those conditions.
I'm far more interested in who actually won the ball and then used it well. Brodie had 17 contested possessions, the most by a Freo player (Serong - 14, Logue - 11, Mundy - 10), a disposal efficiency of 70% which was only bettered in the midfield by Acres (77% which surprised me given some of his long bombs inside 50m to no one) and Brayshaw (73%) as well as a team high 4 score involvements.
I thought Brodie was the catalyst for our good start and deserved the vote.
