Yeah, morgan, I don't think the club should be getting involved in what was a political exercise. That isn't their role or their forte. That plebiscite was completely politicised from the get go.

It's a completely different kettle of fish when showing support for people who are still subject to unfair treatment and taking a stand against discrimination. Those are issues the club should been seen to take a stand because they're social issues that affect players, supporters and the wider community.

The club did well not to get involved in the politics.

Let's not get diverted away from the simple fact that The Slime only had to find somewhere to put a bloody rainbow on their jumper. Given how ugly that WeeBlue thing is, where's the problem?

That new football guernsey supplier that makes oversized jumpers is really working out well for them. I wonder when they are going to fess up about the poor choice of supplier and move on. Anyway, I'd wouldn't be surprised if they are staying away from rainbows as it induces acid flash backs....

Even if we accept that Freo and WCE were outliers in the past, the reality is that WCE are the only remaining outliers. Call it out.

On another form of social media I wrote:

WC statement, "Many of our supporters are a bit on the old side, and seem to be very easily triggered. We haven't even told most of them that AFLW involves women, for fear of setting them off. Their children buy them tickets and they come to the games to shout at the umpires, and we don't want to ruin their fun."

Some of them have clearly just bunged a rainbow on it.

Not imaginative, but not bloody hard either.

North melbourne's is pretty good.

I'm not sure what's going on at Carlton and Footscray.

"The Eagles have not released a Pride Round guernsey but are celebrating inclusion and diversity with a Pride training singlet."

This is a bit like moving in with your same sex partner, but when your Nanna visits you tell her its your housemate.

A few years ago there was a n attitudinal survey of AFL club members, and one question was something like “ Do you think Indigenous culture is important to Australia”.
As I recall (and I recall very well), we were just pipped by the Bullies somewhere in the low eighty per cents (which is still a bit disappointing, but okay I guess). I don’t need to tell you who was stone motherless last, somewhere around fifty per cent..)
.

Somethings are happening here
But you don’t know what they are
Do you, Mr West Coast Eagles?

Funny really (the ironic version), the budgies are normally one of the best at spin and slick but meaningless marketing fluff. Would have expected they'd have at least phoned this in with some half assed effort and the usual flunkies would have lined up the usual level of sycophantic praise.

Unless they don't really care about the AFLW and that gets watered down further with a tribute round.

Yeah, darth, I think it's more likely a case that the budgies never miss an opportunity to demonstrate their complete lack of class.

It goes well with knitting at the footy, incessant booing, cardboard wrapped goon bags and expensive crappy Range Rovers driven by berks with the visual acuity of Mr Magoo.

No wonder the Snoz gushes all over them.
