TOPIC: Carlton's Cripps

Bolton is what we thought B Hill might be, and what S Hill was in his good years. Grab him if we can, he's worth 2 of Cripps to Freo.

On the other hand, Cripps is the Carltoon captain - it would really snot them off if he left for Freo. That's kinda worth it, a bit anyway.

Cripps is very good, in the Bont/Fyfe (and, shudder, Yeo) mold. But can a team have two such players?

I think Clark is contracted for next year so the cats hold the cards.. Its up to us to satisfy them or he will need to front up to their pre-season training.

So we grab him, then play him at Peel for the year, Polly, that's going backwards to the dark ages, I reckon.

So we're assuming Van Rooyen will be gone before our first pick?

It depends what sort of key forward you're looking for. Jack Williams is a little taller and has been doing a lot of ruckwork at the Sharks while also pushing forward to kick bags. He was the most dangerous forward in the academy game vs Geelong a month ago and is pushing up a lot of draft boards. He's been playing that forward/ruck role as well as anyone around the country and has great hands and athleticism.

Van Rooyen has been getting a fair bit of mid time the last few games and racking up the footy. He's a skilled and hard working key forward who leads hard and kicks truly. He's played half the season at league level but returned to colts recently after injury and has kicked 10 goals in the past 3 games despite a fair bit of time in the middle. He's still probably the number 1 overall key forward but Williams is giving him a good shake at the moment.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

I'm still a fan of Jack Buller who at 20 is providing a very good target at league level for Claremont and regularly kicking goals while also doing some ruckwork.

On the AFL website they have an article detailing the Indicative draft order as it currently stands. Based on that, if we remain in our current position, we only have picks 8 and 27 available to us. It seems like we will have to do some creative wheeling and dealing to get ourselves a decent draft hand.

I know this is the Cripps blog but Bizkit do know anything about Zarne Robis from West Perth? He has kicked a heaps of goals this year in the Colts. I wander if he is on the radar to get drafted...
