So good these new laws have led to a more attacking brand of football..

It's about culture, not rules.

Everyone in the AFL seems very keen on being given a good deal of money but very few of them seem to understand where money comes from and why it goes to them.

Our club used to proudly declare they were in the business of winning premierships. I assume that's why we pay a hundred bucks to spend a Sunday afternoon trying to drown out aggressively loud ads and John Farnham covers while we try to watch a mediocre game of footy.

Saints could have won by 40 points if they kicked straight. 3 quarters of good footy.

I thought it was good when the whistles went away for a while there.

Don't tell me Frawley's not a spud - and that King kid should be chewed out in front of the whole playing group.

I really don't like doing it but I was counting numbers around a ball up, there were plenty of times when up to twenty four players were less than a kick away from the ball up.

The cult of fhe contested ball.

Brett Ratten had a few interesting things to say after the match.

He complained that St Kilda had 85 tackles during the game, and says they out-tackled Geelong, but even so, they got only got 3 free kicks as a direct result of all the tackling.

He’s quoted as having said “I don’t know if it’s worth tackling. Just set up behind the ball and flood back”

He also complained that, while being repeatedly tackled, Geelong didn’t always seem to properly handball away, saying “It will be interesting to have a look at how those (hand) balls got distributed, too.”

He’ll be very lucky not to fined by the AFL for having stated the very obvious.

85 for 3 - hold on, FIRST watch this Sportsbet advert, thats it, let the advert settle in with you before Ratts makes the obligatory agreement with what Tom says and states what every viewer thought was the bleeding obvious.

Need more? Of course you do, because last night we cut off the broadcast before you could hear the losing coach's presser - read the Herald-Sun this morning?, you got it - Controversy with a capital 'C'. Visit AwFL.com.au to see it all, buried down the page (just scroll down), but before...have you seen the latest 'Sportsbet' ad?

I just hope behind the scenes umpires are being held to account.

Wait. Are you telling me there are other clubs who think they're hard done by the umps as well?
