Given the size of the squad that went to Brissie plus the number of players out injured, I’m surprised that we have anyone left playing for Peel ... and it doesn’t look like any of those players put their hands up for future consideration. The cupboard is very bare.

Valente’s stats are promising.

That was a good win considering how many they had out. Good return from Valente and who would have thought Schofield was a ruckman.

Bewley good too. Though Treacy only had 1 goal looks like he rucked awhile as 14 hit outs.

I've long thought of Schofield as a bit of a ****** but from what I've seen of him at Peel this year he's really playing a leadership role and teaching our kids a bit along the way. Interesting ruck combination, Schofield and Treacy. Who'd have thought?

Watched the game - bewley and valente were good around the ball. Very good. But it was an open game so they found the ball in space and used it well. Brandon walker showed a couple of real star moves but just was not seen enough. Driscoll is playing in a new position and while at times he does some nice things he has a handful of real clangers that are more of under 12 level. They may of got that one horribly wrong as a pick but it is early so let’s wait and see.
Treacy was workmen like missed a sitter from about 25 out on an angle was ok without being really noticeable.

Interesting along with Kennedy I saw Schofield as one of the nicer guys at the eagles and he seemed pretty humble and a real team player. I’m not surprised he has taken this to his new role at Peel.

You have the Stockholm Syndrome. Kennedy lined up a 19 year old kid with a busted shoulder and buried him.

Yeah, I didn't like that either. That could have been the hit that did most of the damage. On a similar track, we've got a guy at full forward who must weigh close to 100 kg who could do some damage to players standing in his way but doesn't. Josh Carr needs to educate Tabs in the dark arts of how to do maximum physical damage whilst looking like an angel. Treacy seems to enjoy doing this and I've been waiting years for Tabs to do it. Opposition teams just pop a guy in the hole in front of Tabs and he seems to put up the white flag. There were at least a couple of occasions against the Weagles where one of their young defenders was caught in front of him and he backed off avoiding solid contact. I love Tabs but he's got to develop a mean streak to go to the next level.
