I know some are saying don't go to the mid season draft, but at this rate we will be lucky to field a side by the second half of the season if we don't.
Chapman, Sturt-season
Banfield, Hughes, Young, Hamling, Hill all many weeks away and will have to come back through Peel first anyway.
Valente, O'Driscoll, Walker on limited Peel game time and long way off form and fitness.
That's ten players. How many in a squad?
Plus of course we're certainties to get more.

Look on the bright side, Dale, Josh, Clive & Matty is not a bad bench for the next derby.

Thank god there was no further risk of injury when we sent them back on the field after the season ending injuries these kids copped. They may have had their careers ended.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Can we just push the draft age back to 20 and be done with it please? Chapman, Sturt and Young should all be growing into their bodies in state leagues and without AFL-level training, let alone being forced back onto the field for no reason (we lose anyway).

The message that went out to both these young kids when they each did their injury must have been “look, you’re already done for the season, so just stay out there and enjoy the rest of the day”

That is really bad news. Damaging meniscus is the worst injury a footballer can get.

So does this mean we head to the mid season draft and who are we likely to take? A young buck who missed out at last years draft or a mature bodied player who's been in the system a while and can play next week if necessary??

The latter preferably Gumnut.
We don’t want to break another poor young kid...

I see earlier i said, "meniscus was the worst injury a footballer could get."

My smartphone didn't add, sent with seven dollar Swan Draught pint night at the Hyde Park Hotel.
