Yeah, a rich club with systemic problems of racism can just swoop in and outbid a club committed to nurturing and training Aboriginal kids. Fair dinkum Australian fairness.

Any time WA does well from something like that, the AFL hobble it.

They used to want to grow the game and have as many people involved as possible. Now they seem to want to be the doorman and control who's allowed to play.

Basically, they reckon our two kids have only been in our academy for about a year so far, 2 by the end of the season so they're considering not granting us NGA rights despite two years work. It's pretty ridiculous when other clubs academies have had players for far less (look at GC atm who just picked up rights to Northern Territory kids despite having nothing to do with them).

Not granting us Motlop and Bartlett as NGA's for this reason flies in the face of half the academy kids selected since the AFL brought in academies.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Please don't paste the full text of an article, even more so if it's behind a paywall. Legality aside, it's not fair to the publisher.

There’s no mention of what timeframe applies to NGA players in the article. If none exist in AFL rules or regulations it’s ridiculous and if they do exist what are they?

I hear Crown casino are looking for new Board members, I could nominate a few from the AFL to oversee the roulette Department.

I've been trying to get my head around this one for a while. Basically if someone puts in a bid for Motlop or Douglas inside Pick 20 that's it and we can't match but say a bid at Pick 21 and we can then match it and get them into Purple. It's annoying when you think that whingeing old Collingwood got Isaac Quaynor as an academy pick up a couple of years ago. The Victorian clubs who whinged and got this change put into place was basically because they 're Academy setups were either useless , poorly funded and poorly run with dubious talent selection whilst interstate clubs like us are elite in selecting talent and have great coaches and mentors like Tendai Mzungu.
