TOPIC: DuFFLe 2021

As the new footy season rapidly approaches, we're finalising the competing coaches in the prestigious Dockerland Fantasy Football League or DuFFLe for short. The competition has a long history beginning in 2002 and is a great source of banter and laughs across the year.

In 2020 we adapted to the shortened season which saw Blockerhall lift the Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or Premiership for the fourth time with Pollyanna taking home the Green Ginger Wine Richmond Cup for being the best of the also rans. There are potentially 4 spots left for 2021 although priority remains with the coaches missing from last season.

We encourage dockerlanders to jump in and give the game a go. It's easy to play, a hell of a lot of fun and all the rules can be found on the DuFFLe board linked at the top right of the page under the 'Shenanigans' tab. If you'd like to give it a shot, sign up now and join the fun.

Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

The small 'u' in the DuFFLe acronym stands for 'uh' (in case anyone was wondering). It's used as an honest interjection.

Which is quite different from the 'buying time and indeterminently using up a broadcasting time allocation until the news at the top of the hour' (as in Aunty radio - Geoff Hutchison aside, of course).

I should add: the small 'e' is nothing more than a phoney attempt to make the name appear sort of French - its just there for a bit of Europa flavooray (so to speak).

I thought it was perfectly obvious it's pronounced "doofla".
