Hey Polly, I think Andrew Demetriou is the answer to your question.
From today's Australian
"Crown Resorts director Andrew Demetriou’s tenure could end after a NSW casino inquiry report said there are “very serious doubts” over its suitability to run a casino should he remain on its board after a “quite bizarre” performance as an inquiry witness."

Who would have thought that the man who oversaw the decision to support and put AFL money into a new stadium next door to Perth’s Crown casino would coincidentally end up on the Crown board after leaving his AFL position ... and then end up being named in a report that criticises his behaviour while in his new job.
We need a revolution to remove these self serving boys clubs from business and politics.

There’d be no politicians or business men left if you took out all the boys club

Do I feel sorry for someone who was the architect of his own destruction? Um no.

He got the day wrong. Today is a historic and proud day for the Collingwood Football Club...

Yes. Packer, Eyebrows and his mates spent billions putting up that big harbourside money laundering joint only to be told they can't use it. It was all set up - right on Sydney Harbour, you could just park ships/barges/container boats full of dodgy cash out front. No one is giving those blokes a half hour press conference to spruik their characters and the virtues of their enterprise like Ed was given.

Well WTB, eyebrows had to do something after his vocational education company (Acquire Learning and Careers) went toes up owing $147 million on an income measured in the 100s of millions per year.

Clearly he's an effective manager.

Still, if he leaves the Crown board, he'll have more time to attend to his upcoming court case.

Maybe I'm a cynic, but I reckon the NSW govt just put a hold on that license in order to strongarm a higher percentage of the take.

Yeah, polly. I'm not sure the government gets the credit for this one.

This was a finding in an inquiry conducted by a former NSW Supreme Court justice. She effectively found that Crown was not a suitable licence holder. She set the bar pretty high for any correction.

Now it's up to the government to respond to the report.

She aimed a heap of criticism of the board members as well as the previous CEO.

Is there anything involving eyebrows that can pass the pub test?

Is there a term, perhaps in Greek, for when you're too corrupt for Sydney to look the other way.

Shirley you jest Shane. Nothing like that could occur in Melbourne. And if it did it would be quickly investigated and appropriate action would be taken by the Victorian government....

Nah, just kiddin’ .... 18 months ago...

It's probably just coincidence that former Liberal politicians, whether they're the Chair of Crown or some other corporate body, are somehow above suspicion here.

Back to football:
A lot going on with the gang at Crown - Guy Jalland resigned from the Board there, but he has retained his Board position at the Melbourne Footy club - as you would I suppose. Do they still run their pokies?

Well Eddie's received some support from Dimwitriou of all people. Apparently Eddie's a great bloke, should still be the Prez at Colonwood and the Do Better report was dismissed as lacking detail.

This from the same bloke who's evidence was described by a former NSW Supreme Court justice as "quite bizarre" and "reflecting badly on his judgment". Having seen his comments in relation to Eddie, Colonwood and the Do Better report, I can see where Patricia Bergin is coming from. Bizarre comments and poor judgment would be a fairly generous description of his comments.

Somebody should tell Eddie that friends like that just make everything look even worse than it did yesterday.

Apparently, he's refusing to resign from the board in spite of the findings against him but he's time more than enough time to come out swinging in favour of a bloke who was given a report that found systemic racism at Colonwood and Eddie then claims that there was no systemic racism and it was a proud day for Colonwood. It seems they are both drinking the same bathwater....or maybe bath salts.
