While the old adage suggests that the simplest explanation is often correct, if injuries are the result of Cockburn’s oval then something is terribly wrong. That would be amateur hour stuff.

The news story below is much more interesting - Dana Hooker out for the season after dropping a kitchen knife on her foot at home.

Polly in the absence of a You-boofhead or audible groan button, there is no alternative but to YouBeaut that.

Both ovals at Cockburn are extremely hard. Anyone who’s walked or kicked a ball on it will agree.

You’d hope if it’s been identified as a real problem they’ve taken steps to remediate it, not sure what that is, aerate, top dressing, leave a bit longer who knows?

It seems like they should be able to measure it and know for sure, and then someone can come out and say something along the lines of "The international sport oval association recommend a number between 5-8 and our oval measures a 7.2"

Especially if Suma only decided it was too hard after trying to put down a crop of lettuces.

Way too logical Shane!!

The club could (and should) squash this story with some pretty basic science. I would hope that groundskeepers who are responsible for an “elite training facility” would know how to do this. Concerns might be warranted if this isn’t in their skill set.

As for injuries, while Darcy is the latest, it appears from JL’s presser that Hill and Logue are also struggling with leg injuries and Sturt is not recovering as well as hoped from his ankle.
