For what it is worth an interesting read here from AFR on the effect of the pandemic on WC finances - it would be very interesting to hear where FFC sits after this year:

"The Australian Football League's richest club has seen two years of record profits wiped out in a horror six months of pandemic lockdowns, which look set to put a dent in next year's finances as well.

When they say that 20% of jobs in the AFL industry were lost, I assume that would be casual ticketing and hospitality jobs, because half of Melbourne seems to still be on the payroll at AFL House, with not much to do but sit around the pools of Queensland.

Also worth a mention, $14.3 million is about what West Coast's corporate hospitality is worth at Optus Stadium for a season. They'll make that all back on Saturday.

Shane, they are sitting around the pools looking out for CQB's.

I have some West Coast mates (I know), and interestingly they chose the option of rolling their membership over to next year, and were quite surprised that most of the Dockers supporters they knew had gone in the raffle instead. Gives you a clue as to how the WC brain works.

Gives you an idea of who picks up the bill when you don't have sound management and practice good governance.

The Eagles didn't need to stick their hands in the members pockets because they had money in the bank. Fremantle have been burning through money for a decade, with nothing to show for it, because the board of directors were asleep.

It's not a point of pride that Fremantle had to sell raffle tickets to pay the bills. Its a football club, not a casino.

You realise that if you win that Yaris you can only do burnouts in reverse.

For sure, especially if it was a celebration run after a WAFL leagues win.

That may well be accurate but I'll be able to park it and come back 15 minutes later without it having being stripped.

Sure, that's just because it's a Yarris but nevertheless...

Those bastards in Moss St will steal the air out of the tyres, to pump up their ressies squad for next year.
