You are though. You defended every thing Ross Lyon ever did, without question, like acolytes, and now all of a sudden you're the voice of pragmatism. In context, you are potting him when you adopt a different standard.

Just stop it. Just start over. No one will gold it against you.

"...you defended everything Ross Lyon ever did..."
Well I didn't*, but you can believe what you want.
But what you will see from me with Justin is mainly support. I want him to succeed, and I want the club to succeed. He has started well, and I think the new CEO is a bonus too (it would be hard to do worse than Rosich). Overall, the culture of the club is looking very positive, and win or lose on the field the future looks better.

*Lyon's particular failings as I saw them:
Didn't believe in confidence, and actively drained confidence from players - e.g. telling Luke McPharlin not to go for marks in defence.
Got rid of players like de Boer.
Played Michael Barlow out of position.
Was at least partly responsible for poor club culture (but I probably never said this).
And one that I never saw, but was obvious to many here - did not emphasise skills enough.

You did though. You're trying to revise years of being wrong. Just stop trying, no one cares that you were wrong. Stop trying to impress the internet with how you weren't wrong.

If it helps, I once said that Troy Longmuir would be the next James Hird. I admit it. I was fractionally wrong. I don't try and change history and quote carefully picked statistics to try and convince people on the internet that I was right.

Just stop. People are very nice here. No one will bring it up again.

Yes, embrace wrongness - like me. In fact, celebrate it with a new pseudonym: maybe 'Wodgerwongun'?

It's still in play. I reckon TLo is going better.

Bugger... you entrapped me.

Footy is entertainment, or at least it's supposed to be.

By that metric (if you can call it that, or even better, if you can quantify it somehow), this year was a vast improvement on last year and several of the years before it.

Ok, it’s confessional time. I admit to bagging Sandi on many occasions during the first half (or more) of his career. I concede that he ended up being a very important player.

I was also not convinced by Harvey but he probably deserved more of a chance than he got.

On the other side of the coin I was dead set spot on with Rosich from day one. He destroyed the culture of our club.

I had to through in that last point in order to avoid a day of total self doubt.

Oh.... and I had no strong opinions on Troy Longmuir.

Hey I’m the first to admit that in 2013 I thought RoLy was the best thing since.... well, Harvey... I thought he was awesome, a footy god, the answer to our empty cabinet. Sadly not to be, then the following year was a disaster and the huge contract extension baffled me, the more I thought about it, the more angry I got and I took it out on RoLy when, in hindsight, it was the Steves I should’ve been angry at. I’d take the money if I’d been in that position, hell yeah!
But he’s all forgotten now, JLo is the new deity. I’m lookIng forward to see where the Club is going and it’s looking good, not quite 2013 yet but, like all Freo supporters, I’m optimistic :D

I defended Lyon the majority of the time. I still think he did good things for the club. I won’t have the period between 2012-2015 spoilt for me and repaint those years by what transpired from 2016. Under Lyon a rebuild was achieved something many didn’t think he was capable of.
I’m also very glad that we’ve taken another direction and happy with the decision.
